Condition:

Very Good, Outer has a little wear around collar, a few very tiny marks, can only show one on the photos. At the back corner of the left sleeve is a mark like a stamp, pretty sure this is original fabric mark. Inner lower lining as a few smudges along hem and there are light watermarks (these only show in certain light but can be seen on the photo) As all these flaws are very slight and hardly noticable the kimono can be worn without them detracting. Good piece!

Description:

This is a lovely rinzu silk kimono, in deep rose pink (photos show a little more mauve than reality). Rinzu (damask ) silk has fan/cloud/ pine design. The hem design is handpainted yuzen, beautifully done, plum blossom/bamboo/peony with stylized snowflakes and colours complement each other very well. Upper lining is red silk typical of the period and lower lining is rose pink smooth silk. Wonderful to wear, collect or display!
