Meiji Era 1868-1912

Measurements:

Across Shoulders and Sleeves 47 inches
Across Body 22 3/4 inches
Length 58 inches
Length of Sleeve 23 inches

Condition:

Excellent for age, the black is very slightly discoloured in places but this is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the subtle beauty of the piece.

Description:

This is a lovely antique kimono, in black chirimen silk, there are 5 large Paulownia Mon. The pattern at the hem is handpainted yuzen, delicate cranes/pines and waves, with highlights of tiny embroidery. The pattern is repeated inside the lower hem. The upper lining is thin red silk. This is a collectors item ! but would also be a wonderful interior design statement, condition is such that it can be worn.
