Condition:

Very good, there are some small stains on the design, see photos, there are two watermarks on the outer and one mark on the inner, see photos. None of these detract from the piece.

Description:

This is a lovely kurotomesode, in silk crepe with 5 mon. The design around the hem (yuzen dyed) is the old Japanese fairytale of Hanasaka-jii san, who scatters ashes over a cherry tree in winter, and it flowers. There are highlights of gold couching and the design continues inside the lower hem. The upper lining is synthetic.
