Excellent, a couple of faint small marks, hardly noticable, but for the age fantastic.

Description:

This is a fabulous rare, wedding kimono or Uchikake in medium weight rinzu (damask) silk with chrysanthemum and paulownia design. The decoration is of cranes/ pine banches and pine cones/needles, these are done with handpainted yuzen and sumi technique. The detail of the cranes is wonderful with each head having embroidered red highlights. The pine cones and needles around the lower part of the kimono are also embroidered and highlighted with gold thread. There are 5 fine Mon (crests) present, the Takanoha Mon ( Hawk feathers), families include-Abe and Tomita. The hem is heavily padded. The inner lining is smooth orangey vermillion associated with the Meii Era. Top quality collectors item!
