Condition:

Excellent for the age, there is a small fray inside the lower lining and light stains on safflower lining, see photos. One tie appears to be missing.

Description:

This is a lovely, very rare, girl's kimono from the late Edo Era. It is made from smooth silk and has a wonderful hand yuzen design of red cherry blossom and Japanese garden. The red cherry contrasts wonderfully with the grey background. The design continues inside the lower hem. There are 5 Mon present, the Kikyo ( Chinese Bellflower ) Mon. The upper inner lining is natural safflower dye. The hem is lightly padded. Wonderful collector's item !
