Excellent for the age, no holes, some watermarks, these can be seen on the photos.

Description:

This is a rare nobori or flag, medium weight hand woven cotton, indigo dyed from the Inari (or Oinari) Shrine. In Shito religion the inari is the fox god or goddess of fertility, rice, tea, agriculture, industry so general prosperity and worldly success. The flag says 'Sho Ichi Iwadama Dai Jinjya' directly translated as Inari Iwadama Large Shrine the most highest position. Wonderful collector's item !
