Description:

This is a lovely woven silk fukusa from the Taisho Era. The design is finely embroidered depicting Fukurokuju, One of the Seven Lucky Gods, the god of Wisdom and Longevity, with his sacred deer companion. The detailing of the embroidery is exquisite. The four tassels are present and the reverse of the fukusa is woven dark green silk with large gold Mon, the Kashiwa (Evergreen Oak) Mon. Wonderful collector's item!
