This is a lovely tomesode in black silk crepe. There are 5 Mon present, the Kashiwa (Evergreen Oak ) Mon. The kimono is hand yuzen dyed with fine embroidery highlights and the design continues inside the lower lining. The kimono has the delicate atmosphere of the Taisho Era contrasting with the dramatic colours which were also fashionable at the time. Fashion in the Taisho Era was a blend of subtle traditional motifs and larger colourful designs influenced by the Western world (Art Nouveau and Art Deco) This kimono has an upper lining of red raw silk. Wonderful to wear, collect or display!
