Description:

This is a lovely scroll from the early Showa Era. It is hand painted on silk, with blue silk mount. It depicts the famous Japanese samurai Masashige Kusunoki with his banner half chrysanthemum and water. Masashige Kusunoki 1294-1336 was one of Japan's greatest military strategists. Finials seem to be animal bone. Wonderful collector's item and interior display piece!
