This is a lovely thick silk uchikake from the Taisho Era. The design, on the rich purple background is handpainted with scene of pine trees, flying cranes and Japanese cart from Heian period. There are highlights of gold couching and fine embroidery. 5 Mon are present, a combination Mon of Karabana (Chinese Flower) and Mokko (Melon Mon) The hem is very heavily padded and inside lining is gorgeous, quality, red rinzu silk with a paired phoenix design. Wonderful collector's piece and very displayable !
